This Privacy Policy explains how Virtual Business Card (myvbcard.net), operated by Gables Tech LLC (“we”, “us”), collects and uses information when you visit the site, create an account or publish a virtual business card.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored encrypted; we cannot see them.
Card information. Everything you enter in your card form: business name, your name, job title, phone, WhatsApp, fax, email, website, address, review and social media links, description, logo and banner images. This information is public: anyone with the link or QR code can see it, and search engines may show it.
Visit and tap statistics. When someone opens a card, we count the visit and which buttons are tapped (for example “Call us” or “Save Contact”) so the card owner can see how the card performs. These are totals only. We do not record who the visitor is. To count a visit only once per day, the visitor’s browser keeps a small note (local storage) with the date of the last visit.
Cookies. We only use the cookies WordPress needs to keep you logged in to your account. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and date of the request) for security and to keep the site working.
2. How we use information
- To create your account and publish your card.
- To review cards before they are published.
- To send you service emails, such as your welcome email and the email with your card link and QR code.
- To show you your card statistics.
- To protect the site against abuse, spam and unauthorized access.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
3. Services we use
To run the site we rely on trusted providers, who only receive what they need to do their job:
- Hosting (GablesHost), where the site and its data are stored.
- QR code generation (api.qrserver.com), which receives the web address of your card to create its QR code.
- Backups stored in Google Drive, to recover the site if something goes wrong.
- Email delivery for the messages the site sends.
When a visitor taps a button on a card, they leave our site and the other service’s own privacy policy applies (for example Google Maps, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram or TikTok).
4. How long we keep information
We keep your account and card while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your account and card from the site. Copies may remain in our backups for up to 30 days before they are overwritten.
5. Your choices and rights
- Update your card anytime from your account.
- Ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us.
6. Children
This service is for businesses and professionals. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
7. Security
We use secure connections (HTTPS), login protection and regular backups. No website can be 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version.
